National Chapter

When CPVA was originally established, its foundation was built on Local Chapters. They offered activities, engagement in local service projects, and social venues, all building camaraderie and common purpose. The National Chapter was also created, but only intended to accommodate those who did not live near a Local Chapter.

More recently, the inevitable demographic shifts of an aging population began to affect our Local Chapters. Although folks remained staunchly supportive of CPVA, there was a growing reluctance to volunteer for executive positions necessary to lead and manage a Local Chapter. This resulted in the gradual decline and eventual closure of some of our Local Chapters. Establishment of new ones is encouraged, and the current ones are fully supported, however given the recent growth of our National Chapter, we also recognize its growing importance.

So, we are modernizing our approach to the National Chapter, encouraging its growth, and ensuring its online presence is engaging and fulfilling for all members, while remaining true to our Association’s original Objects.
