Local Chapters

Currently there are two Local Chapters that are active, one in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador, and one in Miramichi, New Brunswick. In addition to pursuing local community projects, they conduct social gatherings to reinforce the bonds of camaraderie, and all three help to commemorate fallen Veterans at schools and during Services of Remembrance throughout Veterans Week in early November.

As examples of CPVA achievements, in addition to the British Columbia Chapter’s engagement with local Veterans Homes, CPVA’s Patron, Joseph Gollner, led a team of Afghanistan veterans to create the BC Afghanistan Memorial in Victoria, unveiled in 2017.

In Newfoundland and Labrador, a permanent Peacekeepers Park and Memorial were planned, funded, and created by CPVA. The Chapter also succeeded in having a stretch of Highway renamed to honour Veterans.

The Miramichi, NB Chapter provides a very active venue for Veterans to gather both socially, and for the purpose of honouring Peacekeepers on 9 August.

In Edmonton, the Chapter held ceremonies to welcome troops home from overseas deployments and presented Junior Peacekeeper awards.

The West Central Alberta Chapter conducted an annual highway cleanup as part of the “Keeping Alberta’s Highways Clean” campaign.
